We (‘Kora Academy’) may update these Terms. Understand that by using this Website you are agreeing to be bound to the most current updated version of these Terms. Throughout this document, the terms “we”, “us, and “our”, refer to Kora Academy.
Disclaimers
We (Kora Academy) may make changes to this Website without notice at any time. Material on this Website may be out of date on rare occasions. We do not make the commitment that everything on the Website is up to date or correct. We reserve the right to make changes to this document at any time without notice. For any substantial changes, we will attempt to notify you, if you are signed up for our emails, that we have updated our policies.
The information on this Website is general and may not be fully accurate due to lack of detail given. In no way do we constitute legal, business, or any other advice to you. It is not our responsibility if you misunderstand our services, information, or any other related to the Website. You are required to sign a waiver upon arrival. If you do not, you can not participate in the service you have purchased and you will be asked to leave. We can not always give you a refund in the case that you refuse to sign the waiver. Please understand this before you book an appointment/service. You MUST sign a waiver that states that Kora Academy is not liable or responsible if you get injured in any way shape or form. If you refuse to sign the waiver, Kora Academy reserves the right to refuse service and does not have to issue a refund as it will be considered a no show. Review our Refunds and Cancellations Policy as well as our Lateness Policy for more information.
By purchasing a service, it is implied that your age is at least 18 years old. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a service from Kora Academy. Any activity on the Website by persons under the age of 18 is not condoned by Kora Academy and is without our knowledge.
Kora Academy is not at fault if you do not remember or fully understand the choreography taught. We do our best to teach at a pace that everyone can learn at, but some students may still have a hard time learning which is out of our control. In this case, we suggest that you pick one of our easier classes in the future. You agree that you do not expect the instructor to go solely at your pace and that you will not disrupt the class for solely your benefit. If in any way the instructor decides that you are being disruptive or continuously asking for help that does not benefit the whole class, we reserve the right to remove you from the class and studio, deny your requests, and you will not receive a refund no matter what. This is in the case that you are overly disruptive. Asking for clarification when needed is okay as long as it is respectful and non-disruptive or rude.
In the event of some sort of disruption, Kora Academy may not finish teaching the class. In this extremely rare case, students shall receive a refund if the choreography is not finished being taught. This is a very unlikely event, and would be a result of a sudden emergency.
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Kora Academy, including its owner, employees (if applicable), and third parties, for any losses, costs, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) relating to your use of or inability to use the Website or services, your violation of these Terms or your violation of any applicable laws, rules or regulations.
If your child is participating in a service from Kora Academy, understand that the parent or guardian is responsible for their child's behavior. It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to ensure their child does not have any medical issues prior to class. If the child sustains any injury during class, it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to accept full liability, no exceptions. Please understand this before coming to class.
Exclusion of Liability
Kora Academy will not be held liable for any kind of damage, loss, or misunderstanding that may result to you or a third party with the use of this Website. This exclusion includes our services, appointments, events, contributions or donations, merchandise purchasing, and any voluntary action with the use of this Website. We are not responsible or liable if your credit card/payment information is not correct and is denied. If your payment information is not correct or is denied, you may not be subjected to our services. You are responsible for getting in touch with us (Kora Academy) through our Website or our email, in the case of a rescheduling, refund, assessment of payment, cancellation, or any other event that you have concerns with. Otherwise, Kora Academy will continue to charge you.
We are not liable if our Website malfunctions as it is out of our control. We will do our best to ensure that your appointments are not affected in the event of the Website going down or anything catastrophic, but we can't promise that all can be recovered as this would be a rare occasion. We are not obligated to update, amend, or clarify information on the Website except as required by law. We reserve the right to update pricing, availability, times, dates, and any other information regarding Kora Academy at any time without notice.
Refunds and Cancellations
Kora Academy understands that emergencies and other untimely events come up. That being said, we are reserving a spot for you, if you have scheduled and paid. And we do expect you to show up. Kora Academy maintains a 24-hour cancellation policy as long as you inform us via email, koraacademyroc@gmail.com at least 24 hours before your scheduled service/appointment. If you cancel within the 24 hour period, you will be charged the full amount. We do not make exceptions to this policy. Any attempt to override, or take action against this policy will be denied. Please understand that we are a small business and every client matters, so last minute cancellations can hurt our business and potential clientele. All services of Kora Academy, including those listed on the Website, are non-refundable. Please understand this before booking your appointment/service. If you need more information regarding what we do and what is included in our services, please visit our social media pages listed on the Website prior to booking. Understand that under no circumstance are we required to issue a refund of your service. Once you have purchased the service, it is final. We do our best to make your time and payment worthwhile, but it is your responsibility to do your research to better understand what to expect and what we do.
Billing
We reserve the right to refuse any order you have placed with us. You agree to provide current, accurate information regarding your payment method and service booking information. You agree to update your information as needed such as your email address, credit card number, so that we can complete your transaction and book your appointment.
Kora Academy currently requires that you pay the full amount of the service when you book your appointment through our Website. You may not pay in-person. This is so that all time at the studio is utilized and ensures that we will not run into any issues regarding payment during our clients’ service time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are not liable for any inconvenience that is caused. You agree that you understand this before booking an appointment.
Lateness Policy
Kora Academy understands that traffic and other matters can affect your tardiness. However, we do expect you to come to your appointment right on time. Please understand that if you show up late, you may miss some choreography and therefore be lost throughout the service. It is not our responsibility to get you caught up if you showed up late or are confused. Showing up late may also result in you missing our warm-up and therefore resulting in potential injuries. We do not take responsibility or liability for this. You will not receive a refund if you show up late even if you let us know that you are going to be late. You will not receive a discount if you show up late and miss some or the majority of the service booked. We reserve the right to not allow you to enter the studio or join the class if you are late. You will pay the full amount for the service you booked even if you were late by any amount of time. We can not adjust our service or service times to accommodate each and every person. No exceptions.
Dress Code Policy
We encourage students to dress comfortably and confidently. We prefer that you bring a separate pair of shoes/sneakers to wear in the studio for dancing to help keep the floors clean from any dirt, mud, or liquids from outdoors. You may put your outside shoes in a safe spot in the studio. We are not responsible if you lose your shoes or any personal belongings you bring to the studio. We ask that you do not wear extremely revealing clothes. If your attire is not acceptable, deemed by the instructor, you may be asked to leave without a refund. However, this would be a rare case. Listed below are acceptable.
No nudity.
Feel free to wear cute or comfy outfits that make you feel confident (as long as they are appropriate).
Behavior Policy
We have a no tolerance policy when it comes to your behavior when you step inside our studio. Students are expected to listen to the instructor and not cause disruptions to the class. If you are disrupting the class in any way deemed unnecessary by the instructor, you may be asked to leave. You will not be given a refund, credit, or discount. You are expected to behave respectfully and if you can not do that we do not have to provide you with service or any type of credit including payment. Some unacceptable behavior will result in you being banned from Kora Academy, resulting in exclusion from any future services, events, activities, contributions, performances, merchandise and anything related to Kora Academy. We reserve the right to cancel, ban, any future appointments you might have with Kora Academy if you are no longer welcome at our studio. No exceptions. Again, you will not be refunded. That is final. Kora Academy currently only provides services for those 18 and up, so please act as such. Any discriminatory, hateful, crude, or disrespectful acts will not be tolerated and will result in banning as stated earlier. If any student is behaving in a way that is deemed unsafe or could cause injury, we reserve the right to remove you from the studio or ban you from any future services, events, activities, contributions, performances, merchandise or anything related to Kora Academy. No refunds. No exceptions.
If you are unhappy with our service, we ask that you contact us on our Website or email and kindly let us know. Any hate speech, harassing, spam, bullying, promotions, or crude messages are forbidden. Those types of messages will not be tolerated and will not be responded to. We reserve the right to not respond to your complaint, email, or message. And you will not get a refund. We reserve the right to deny refunds. If we receive any hate speech, bullying, promotions, spam, or crude messages, you may be banned from all relating to Kora Academy including our services, events, merchandise, contributions, activities, and all else. Any attempt to book a service when banned, will be denied and immediately terminated.
When you sign up for emails, you agree that Kora Academy will send you emails from time to time regarding classes, appointments, scheduling, performances, upcoming events, merchandise updates, general messages to keep you in the loop, and any updates we feel you should be aware of regarding Kora Academy. You are always welcome to decline future emails/contact and we will remove you from our mailing list when we have time. Note that we may not see or receive your email when you expect us to, therefore we may not respond right away, but we will do our best to accommodate.
On occasion there may be typos, incorrections, or general information on the emails we send you. We ask that if you have any questions or concerns after receiving an email from us, that you email us for clarification or go to our Website or social media page for more information or a better understanding. We are not liable if you misunderstand any email or message we send out.
Termination of Use
If these Terms are breached in any way, we reserve the right to terminate your use of our Website and services with or without notice, at any time, for any reason.
Photographs/Videos
When you show up for your service/class, the instructor may ask for your permission to take, or have someone take, photos or videos throughout the session or at the end of the session for social media purposes. We ask that you are open to this as it encourages current and potential students to sign up for a class. We do not share any of your personal information unless we ask your permission first. For example, your Instagram handle, or your name, but this is not likely unless you express to us that you would like to be featured in some manner that we agree with.
If you do not agree to having your picture/video taken, please understand that we may still take group photographs/videos, but we will ensure that you are not in the frame, or blurred, if we were to post it on social media, our Website, or related.
If you wish to film yourself showing off your new moves, please wait for the instructor to indicate that it is okay to do so (usually at the end of class). There may not always be an opportunity to do so. If any individuals are captured in your video or picture, you are responsible to ask them if it's alright if you post it to social media, or kindly move, or ask them to move out of frame if they do not wish to be filmed.
Prohibited Uses
You are prohibited from using the site or its content unlawfully, discriminatorily, or in any way that inaccurately or negatively represents Kora Academy.
Service Refusal
Kora Academy, its owner and instructor, reserves the right to refuse service to any individual for any reason deemed necessary, at any time.
